I didn't really know what to write so I decided to share some of my
favorite quotes, "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perserverance,
learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing.
-Pele
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that
you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines,
sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore,
Dream, Discover.
-Mark Twain
"First, have a definite, clear practical ideal; a goal, an objective.
Second, have the necessary means to achieve your ends; wisdom, money,
materials, and methods. Third, adjust all your means to that end.
-Aristotle

Now that I've shared some of my favorite inspirational quotes, I decided
to share some of my favorite book excerpts. "You can tell yourself that you
would be willing to lose everything you have in order to get something you
want. But it's a catch-22: all of those things you're willing to lose are
what make you recognizable. Lose them and you've lost yourself."
-Jodi Picoult, Handle With Care
The next passage is from a man named Gregg Levoy. "Much of the pain associated
with callings comes from avoiding them, from not surrendering to them.
However much sacrifice may be involved, much of the pain we feel in
surrendering to callings actually comes from the anticipation of the pain
and not from the actual capitulation. Once we do surrender, we often feel a
sense of great relief, and just as often we are bewildered about why we
didn't do it years ago."
-Gregg Levoy, Surrender as Victory
Lastly, this passage was written by a man named Dave Pelzer from "Life
Lessons." There can be endless reasons why folks may not like us, no
matter what we do. In the end, we must have the will to simply be ourselves.
When you please others in the hope of being accepted, you lose your
self-worth in the process.
As elementary as this sounds: to help yourself, you have to be yourself.
Be the best person you can possibly be. Stand up for yourself.
Without being rude and arrogant, speak your piece. Every day do your best and
if there are those who disagree with you, it's not the end of the world.
By being more self-assured, you're not only taking a stand, but you will
actually learn more quickly to adapt to a negative environment.
-Dave Pelzer, Life Lessons

For my last paragraph I decided to share a little bit about myself.
I'm currently a senior majoring in Information Systems and am set to
graduate this December. I have gone back in forth regarding what type
of job I would like to have, but think I have decided I want to do
something with data analytics. I really want to work at Dominion or
Capital One and have started putting in applications. However, as we all
know things are a little crazy right now with the Corona virus, so I'm
hoping that doesn't affect my job search.
Some of my hobbies include: reading, exercising, hanging out with friends,
watching Netflix, and shopping. I absolutely love animals and am currently
looking to adopt a rescue dog. I'm also engaged and getting married in
August, so I'm kind of stressed out with everything going on in my life
right now.
I'm excited to learn valuable information in this course and I look forward
to working with all of you. I wish everyone a great semester and I hope that
everyone has an amazing summer! Also, if anyone ever wants to get together
or Zoom to study or help each other with assignments, please let me know!
I hope everyone has a great semester!!
